Remembering Rizal

Do you know who is our National Hero? Or do you even know who is Rizal? If you heard the name Jose Rizal what comes first on your mind? Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado Y Alonzo Realonda is the real name of Dr. Jose P. Rizal. He is a Filipino Nationalist. He was considered as National Hero of our country. He was born June 19, 1861 in Calamba Laguna. His mother is Teodora Alonzo and his father is Francisco Mercado. He was the seventh of eleven children. He was a novelist and his most famous works of all time were his two novels, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo.

Last December 18, 2012, we watched the play Batang Rizal at the Assumpta Theater. it was a great and unforgettable experience with my friends, classmates, and also the faculty. We have learned about the life of Dr. Jose P. Rizal from his childhood until he became our national hero.

The play was good!. It was indeed an amazing play. Even if it is about 2 and a half hour, it was not boring to watch. The actors and the actresses plays their role very well.

By watching the Batang Rizal, I have learned that the life of Rizal is very inspiring to all students. Young people must imitate the way he serves our country through his novels and good examples.
